A lash lift is worth considering if you like your natural lashes and mainly want more curl and definition. Extensions can add length and fullness beyond your existing lashes, but they involve a different maintenance routine. At our Lane Cove salon in Sydney, the choice can be discussed around your natural lash length, preferred finish and how much ongoing upkeep you want to include in your routine.

A lash lift commonly remains noticeable for around six to eight weeks, although the result varies with your natural growth cycle and the condition of your lashes. As lifted lashes shed and new ones grow through, the effect gradually changes. Tint can fade sooner than the lifted shape, so a return appointment should be based on how your lashes look and whether they are ready for another treatment.

Tinting is not automatically included with every lash lift option. Our menu offers a lash lift alone as well as a combined lash lift and tint, so you can choose whether you want extra colour alongside the lifted shape. If your lashes are already dark, lifting alone may give the definition you want, while lighter lashes may show a more noticeable difference with the added tint.

Our Lane Cove treatment menu allows approximately one hour for a lash lift alone and one hour and fifteen minutes for a lash lift with tint. These are appointment estimates rather than a promise that every treatment takes exactly the same time. Choose the appropriate service when booking and allow enough time for the treatment and a discussion of the finish you would like to achieve.

A lash lift can make straight lashes more visible by changing their curve, but it does not add extra length or new lashes. Shorter lashes may achieve a subtler result, depending on whether they can be positioned appropriately for treatment. Your technician can assess the starting length and condition, then explain whether a lift is likely to give the effect you want or whether another approach merits discussion.

You can usually wear suitable mascara once the initial aftercare period advised for your treatment has passed. A tint may already provide enough definition for everyday wear, so mascara becomes an optional addition when you want a stronger finish. Follow the salon's instructions about timing, product choice and gentle removal, because rubbing your lashes or repeatedly using harsh removal methods can make everyday care more difficult.

Follow the aftercare instructions given for the particular lifting system used at your appointment, including any guidance about steam, rubbing, makeup and conditioning products. Different systems have different requirements, so a generic rule found online may not match your treatment. Handle your lashes gently and ask when another lift would be appropriate, allowing their growth and condition to guide the timing instead of repeating treatments too frequently.
